The Flaming Moose mascot

After participating in some quizes other people started joining the team. Since for those people there was no link with that gorgeous part of the Netherlands, Twente, a new name had to be chosen. The first person to join us was Peter, and since two of the three team members at that time were big Simpsons fans, the name Flaming Moe's was chosen. When after three tries then-quizmaster Davy (currently playing for Hawkeye Canoe) still thought we said "Flaming Moose" we gave up. Good thing too, because that name is actually much better. It would even provide us with a mascot. 

As many quiz contenders in our home-bar as well in the numerous finals in which we participated know, we never play our quizzes without our mascot sitting on the table. Currently, Flaming Moose has access to three (!) mooses: Bert-Jan and Kees have one permanently at hand. A third one was given to Marlous on her last regular quiz she played with us before she moved out of town. The reason we have so many is because our original moose has been stolen a few times. Most of the time it resurfaced a week later (Hawkeye Canoe we hate you for stealing it, but we love you for returning our moosey) but the last time it disappeared forever. Thank goodness E-bay provided BJ with a new one, and Jennifer and Kees bought the other two on a thrift market in Tulsa, OK of all places. Now we know that we'll always have our moose by our side. As long as mooses bring victories we see no reason to go without it.
